Employers eye higher incentive limits for wellness programs

Employers may add more wellness program penalties and rewards linked to health indicators in 2014, as federal law increases the limits for employee incentives from 20% of total premiums to 30%, according to benefits experts. Susan Nash of McDermott Will & Emery says some employers already are close to current limits and raising the ceiling will mean workers will need to "take their own health care into accountability."
