MHI chief urges Japan's LDP to clear reactor restarts

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries CEO Hideaki Omiya urged the newly elected Liberal Democratic Party to order the restart of Japan's nuclear plants. "Japan must grow economically, and energy policy plays a large role in that," Omiya said. However, "safety comes first, and so [reactor] makers must do all we can do to say, 'If we do this, it's safe,' " he added.
