Senate close to vote on confirming Yellen as Fed chief

The Senate might vote as soon as Thursday on confirming Janet Yellen to be the next head of the Federal Reserve and John Koskinen to lead the Internal Revenue Service, said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. On Monday, the Senate voted 78-16 to confirm the appointment of Jeh Johnson as secretary of the Homeland Security Department.
