Some residency laws are not enforced for first responders, Mass. officials say

Some local fire officials in Massachusetts say laws governing where public safety personnel must live are not enforced, even if it means some first responders take longer to get to the scene. Fire chiefs say better technology, scheduling and agreements with surrounding communities could reduce a department's reliance on off-duty employees so where they live is not as big an issue.
