Dallas may drop block schedules

The Dallas Independent School District is studying the effectiveness of block scheduling, which trades traditional 50- to 55-minute classes for 90-minute classes spread over two days. Although proponents of the system say it allows for more in-depth study, DISD is evaluating whether the impact block scheduling has on staff time and resources.
