NAEP results reveal urban minority students on par with counterparts nationwide

An analysis of 2003 NAEP results in ten large urban districts found that black and Hispanic students' scores were on par with students with similar racial, ethnic and economic backgrounds in suburban and rural school systems. Urban black and Hispanic students' scores continue to lag behind those of whites, however.
