GLSEN event helps gay teens find friendship, support

For several hundred LGBT teens, the annual PrideWorks conference, organized by the Hudson Valley chapter of the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, is a chance to meet peers who are dealing with similar coming-out issues and to escape the isolation many feel at school. "When I first walked in, I felt like crying," said Brian Lindley, 14. "So many people were meeting so many people for the first time."
