Synthetic fuel powers C-17 across the U.S.

An Air Force C-17 Globemaster powered by a mix of synthetic and conventional jet fuel completed a trip across the U.S. on Monday. The Air Force hopes to prove that its fleet can use the synthetic, coal-derived fuel by 2011. The B-52 bomber is already certified to use the fuel mix.
