University housing denial raises gender issues

Transgender Southern Utah University student Kourt Osborn, backed by Equality Utah and other groups, believes the school is discriminating against him because it won't allow him to live in an all-male dormitory unless he completes hormone treatment and gender-reassignment surgery. But university officials are standing by their policy as a "baseline" for determining who can live in single-sex housing.
