Many Asian markets slip, then rebound

Most Asian markets closed up Thursday after flip-flopping between positive and negative throughout the day. The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong inched up 0.2%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 2.2% and the Shanghai Composite Index on mainland China added 2%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.3%, New Zealand's NZX 50 Index went up 0.4% and South Korea's Kospi rose 0.5%. Taiwan's Taiex garnered 1%, Singapore's Straits Times Index grabbed 0.6% and India's Sensex surged 3.3% in afternoon trading.
