NP offers sick child care for parents who have to work

A special child care center in Virginia Beach, Va., takes in children with minor illnesses when parents cannot take off work to care for them at home. Pediatric NP Hazel Mariano opened Rainbow Station in June 2007 and says while the "Get Well Place" program offering sick care is a money loser for her, it is a valuable service for parents. To keep the sick children separate from those who are well, the center has its own ventilation system and a door to the parking lot.
