Ford looks to customize vehicles with apps of its own

Borrowing a page from Apple and its iPhone apps, Ford Motor is asking developers to create applications that will work with its on-board Sync entertainment and information system. According to this report, the automaker's initiative is representative of a larger trend in the industry to allow consumers to customize their in-vehicle experiences.
