CFPB debate keeps Senate from approving 3 regulatory nominees

The legislative deadlock over the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has led Senate Republicans to also stall on approving nominees to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said President Barack Obama must vow to "respect practice and precedent on recess appointments," or he will not allow the Senate to approve several nominees to financial-regulatory agencies.
