Project culminates with student-written books being published

Elementary-school students in a Kansas district recently received hardbound copies of books they wrote as part of a creative-writing project. Students were at the center of each step in the writing process, beginning with brainstorming. While learning lessons in grammar and vocabulary, students wrote fiction, poems and other works, said Erica Seals, the third-grade teacher overseeing the project. The books were published by Studentreasures Publishing, which provides a free copy of students' work and makes additional copies available for purchase.
