The Dallas YMCA increased Twitter mentions for its 46th annual Turkey Trot by 1,200% and boosted engagement on its Facebook page by more than 630% in the final week before the event by using tactics including regularly updating its blog and giving away passes via a Facebook contest. The YMCA also created ready-made tweets about the event for sponsors to promote to their networks and provided the community with space to share stories about past races.
