DOJ charges company in joint venture that bid on Nigerian pipeline

A German engineering firm will pay the Justice Department $32 million to settle allegations that it violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by conspiring with other companies to pay more than $6 million in bribes to Nigerian government officials between 2003 and 2005. The Justice Department will delay prosecuting the engineering firm for three years under the settlement.
