Fewer billion-dollar catastrophes occurred this year, report says

Fewer billion-dollar disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfire occurred this year, CoreLogic said in a report. "With the cyclical nature of some of these events, this year should be considered fair warning that next year will likely see a return to the higher average numbers of damaging natural disasters," said Thomas Jeffery of CoreLogic. The report also mentions the heightened awareness of sinkholes after property damage and one death resulted from three sinkhole incidents in Florida.
