Researchers say new imaging technique may help pinpoint pain

Stanford University researchers say while there is no scientific test to accurately measure pain or determine its exact location, their study in the Journal of the American Chemical Society offers a new diagnostic method that potentially could help physicians pinpoint pain sites. They created an imaging technique that can show concentrations of sodium channel proteins, which are produced in large quantity at injury sites.
