Two-thirds of game spending is digital, study shows

About 65% of game spending in the U.S. this year was on digital downloads, accounting for $13.3 billion of the $20.5 billion total, according to Newzoo. Digital game revenue rose 10% for the year. Tablet gaming grew the fastest, with a compound annual growth rate of 47.6%, while smartphone gaming had a CAGR of 18.8%, the report showed.
