Watchdog group: FTC should look into Hello Kitty app, Marvel site

The Center for Digital Democracy, in a filing with the Federal Trade Commission, asked the agency to investigate whether the Hello Kitty Carnival mobile application and the website violate the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. The app and site fail to require parental consent before collecting and sharing information on users younger than 13 years old, the watchdog group says.
