Many consumers disregard dosage information for OTC products

Medical experts say many consumers of over-the-counter drugs ignore product instructions and adjust their dosage to what they suppose to be most effective, a potentially dangerous practice. Many products currently sold OTC were previously prescription-only drugs, and doctors or pharmacists still should be consulted on deviations from recommended doses, the experts say.
