Slow Net uploads loom as potential challenge

Until fairly recently, the practice of assigning unequal cable space -- that is, reserving more room for large incoming downloads like movies as opposed to smaller uploads like e-mail -- has made sense for Internet service providers. As the Internet becomes more truly interactive, however, some critics worry that slow uploads could become a problem for more than a few specialized users.
