Study: Black cohosh not beneficial for menopause symptoms

The herbal treatment black cohosh is not much better than a placebo in reducing hot flashes and night sweats related to menopause, according to a new study. The study of 351 women found no greater improvement among those taking black cohosh compared to those given a placebo, and experts say the findings are a disappointment to women seeking an alternative to hormone supplements.
