Analysts: CPG companies tend to do well in a recession

Food producers, drugstores, and beer and cigarette makers tend to do well in tough economic times, making them good bets during the U.S. recession, market analysts say. "You're dealing with industries and companies that provide necessities," a Merrill Lynch strategist said.
