Pennsylvania governor signs mandatory overtime ban into law

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has signed into law legislation prohibiting most mandated overtime for nurses and other health care staff. The law takes effect next July and supporters say it will improve patient safety. The law also bans the use of on-call time as a substitute for mandatory overtime.
