Strong "Super Saturday" adds to healthy holiday sales

Shoppers continued to spend during the final weekend before Christmas, packing malls and clicking on last-minute online deals. Consumers spent across the board, boosting sales of clothing, luxury goods and furniture, according to MasterCard Advisors' SpendingPulse report. "This is the first normal Christmas in three years," said Michael McNamara, vice president of research and analysis for SpendingPulse.
