Financial advisers worry about insurance companies' strength

Concern is rising among financial advisers about the soundness of the insurance companies whose products they sell, according to a study by the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association. Twenty-six percent of advisers said they consider a company's financial strength one of the two most important issues in selecting a product for a client, compared with 16% in 2008, the study found.
