The holiday season can present a number of challenges for small businesses such as how to deal with requests for vacation time from multiple employees. It's important to treat employees equally when it comes to these requests to avoid the appearance of discrimination, attorney Helene Wasserman said. Make sure office holiday decorations are secular to avoid offending anyone, but allow workers to adorn their desks with religious items if they wish, she said.
