Itchy cat has its owner scratching head

When cats suffer from pruritus, that itchy feeling, it's most commonly because of an allergy to flea saliva, according to veterinary dermatologist Stephen White. However, if good flea control exists and the itching persists, parasites or a food allergy may be the culprit. Dr. White discusses how veterinarians diagnose these conditions.
