November construction materials prices slip 0.1%

An analysis of November producer price index figures by the Associated General Contractors of America shows the cost of key construction materials slipped slightly but was still 6.2% above 2010 prices. "If Congress can’t work through its differences and fails to enact short and long term investment bills, many contractors are likely to shed even more jobs and may even be forced out of business because of declining demand and increasing materials costs," said Stephen Sandherr, the association's CEO.
