Program aims to increase independence of students with autism

A new program at Vernon Hills High School in Illinois aims to help students with autism become more independent. The program includes two classroom periods -- at the beginning and the end of the day -- in which therapists and educators provide lessons in social and emotional skills, time management, organization and techniques for managing stress.
