Simple swaps can save holiday calories, nutritionist says

Easy swaps, such as using smaller plates or serving spoons, can help trim calories when indulging in holiday foods, nutrition expert Madelyn Fernstrom writes. She suggests popcorn rather than nuts, pureed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes, and egg whites and Canadian bacon in place of whole eggs and regular bacon.
