Survey finds some Americans turn to health technology over doctor

According to a survey by Royal Philips Electronics, 27% of Americans surveyed use interactive, Internet-based tools instead of seeing a doctor, while a quarter said they had utilized home-based diagnostic tools or symptom checker websites as much as they had seen a doctor. Eleven percent of respondents credited online health resources with saving their lives or preventing serious incapacitation.
