AHA report: Cardiovascular diseases, stroke killed 787,000 in U.S. in 2010

Heart disease kills nearly 380,000 Americans each year and is the leading cause of death in the country, according to an American Heart Association report published in the journal Circulation. Strokes claim more than 129,000 lives annually and are the fourth-leading cause of death in the U.S. In 2010, more than 787,000 deaths were caused by heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular problems.
