Analyst: Comcast has N.Y. on its mind with interest in Time Warner Cable

Comcast's interest in making a full or partial bid for Time Warner Cable is likely driven by the cabler's New York systems, which if acquired would give Comcast "a continuous footprint from Boston to Washington," while operating facilities in Chicago, San Francisco, Houston and other top business locations, analyst Craig Moffett says. In related news, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts met with Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler this week but reportedly did not discuss a potential tie-up with Time Warner Cable or any other deals.
