HUD wants Miss. to come to the table

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is urging the state of Mississippi to negotiate in its dispute with the agency over the expenditure of post-disaster housing funds. At the heart of the case is the expenditure of $581 million in federal aid for housing reconstruction in Gulfport, Miss., in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The agency says the state could face sanctions if it does not come to the table.
