More walking daily may cut heart risk in prediabetes

Walking an extra 2,000 steps daily for one year helped reduce the risk of heart disease by 10% and of cardiovascular events by 8% in patients with impaired glucose tolerance, a study indicated. The results, published in The Lancet, demonstrate the importance of exercise in high-risk individuals, researchers said.
