Students learn science, business by making soda

Eighth-graders at Morton Middle School in Fall River, Mass., are learning about science and business through a class that teaches them to make and market their own sodas. Taught by the former owner of a local beverage company, educator Eddie Abdow, the "Science of Soda" course incorporates science to teach students how to create their own flavors in the lab and then business skills in lessons on bottling and marketing the students' drinks.
