Flowers Foods settles kosher dispute

The Georgia-based company, which used to make pies under the Mrs. Smith's label, has agreed to a $2.5 million settlement regarding allegations its kosher pie crusts contained pork lard. The company didn't admit to labeling non-kosher crusts as kosher, but issued an apology for the incident and agreed to donate the settlement money to charity.
