Ferris name change a 'taxing' issue

A restructuring by Briggs & Stratton Corporation will result in the loss of tax benefits for one of its entities, Ferris Industries. Under the move, Ferris' parent company, Simplicity Manufacturing Inc., will be removed from Briggs' corporate lineup. "What Briggs Corporation is trying to do is streamline their operations and save some money with corporate names," said Ferris executive Jerry Dawes, adding that Ferris plans to reapply for the benefits.
