Korea elects conservative, ends decade of liberal rule

Lee Myung-bak of the Grand National Party was elected president with 47.8% of the vote. "At the request of the people, I'll save Korea's troubled economy," Lee said. "I'll also strive to promote social harmony and national unity." Lee is the first president-elect to be investigated for alleged involvement in a financial scam.
