Pfizer says Lipitor whistle-blower suit has "no merit"

A former Pfizer official is suing the company over an educational campaign that allegedly gave doctors misleading information about the cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor. "We believe this case has no merit. ... We believe that our sales and marketing practices are solely based on our prescription information as approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration," the company said Wednesday, the day it was served with the 2004 lawsuit.
