Industry unites to fight spread of travel taxes

Budget shortfalls are prompting state and local governments to implement new or increase existing taxes on travel-related products and services. The spread of such taxes has led the travel industry to team up in opposition. Geoffrey Freeman, senior vice president for the U.S. Travel Association, said the group is creating an advisory board to "make policymakers more discerning and informed of the pros and cons of taxes."
