New Jersey legislators consider expansion of school-choice program

New Jersey legislators are considering the expansion of a popular program that allows parents in 15 districts across the state to send their children to out-of-district schools. Gov.-elect Christopher J. Christie said he supports the school-choice program. But the state's teachers union has expressed concern about the effect on home districts. "You have to ensure you're very careful you don't deny opportunity to the kids who stay behind," a union spokesman said.
