Planned coal-to-gas site in Wyoming moves ahead

The Energy Department is reviewing DKRW Advanced Fuels' bid for a loan to support the construction of a planned coal-to-gasoline facility in Wyoming. "This would be the first major industrial gasification facility that produces transport fuels -- gasoline or diesel -- from coal in the United States," company Chairman Bob Kelly said. The $2.7 billion project aims to process about 10,000 tons of low-sulfur coal into 21,000 barrels of gasoline a day.
