Cancer survivors face greater risk of cutaneous melanoma

Patients previously diagnosed with cancer had a higher risk of developing cutaneous melanoma, according to a study in the journal Archives of Dermatology. Younger cancer survivors were more likely to develop melanoma than were survivors whose diagnosis came after age 45. The study's lead author advised cancer survivors to avoid sun damage.
