Traditional Christmas Eve meal celebrates seafood

Italian-American families, restaurants and celebrity chefs will spend hours preparing the Feast of the Seven Fishes this week, a traditional Christmas Eve meal that developed from the Roman Catholic church's ban on eating meat on the holiday. Celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich's eatery, Lidia, has booked 140 reservations for the family-style meal, which includes seared yellowfin tuna, grilled octopus salad, and steamed calamari and shrimp.
