Air Force vet recognized for pilot safety

The Federal Aviation Administration named retired pilot John Knebel of Bel Marin Keys, Calif., the recipient of its Wright Award for 50 years of flying without an accident. Knebel got his pilot's license at age 19, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and later the Air Force, became a test pilot and then flew for Trans International Airlines until his retirement.
