Researchers examine cardiovascular effects of preterm birth

Individuals born prematurely have unique alterations to their hearts that may affect cardiovascular function, aging and disease throughout their lifetimes, according to a new study published in the journal Circulation. A researcher said preterm birth could be considered as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
