7 big challenges facing the DOT in 2014

The Department of Transportation's Office of the Inspector General has identified seven challenges that the agency needs to address for the coming year. They include improving oversight of infrastructure investments and developing new regulations and standards for safety, reduction of congestion and infrastructure conditions. Another key challenge is the need to modernize and secure information technology infrastructure.
